With over four years of experience in the health and social care industry, Amelia joined Right at Home to take the next step in her career - leading her to become the Coordinator for Alton and Bordon! Her passion for care makes her the perfect person to oversee all care visits in the area, and not to mention her dedication to strive in her career!

Can you share a bit about your background and what you did prior to joining Right at Home?

I started my care career when I was 16 working in a care home in a town where I lived - I cared for family members when unwell and the spark grew from there.

What motivated you to pursue a career in caregiving?

My motivation for working in care came from when I was young and always trying to help people.

What inspired you to join Right at Home?

I was inspired to join right at home as all of their core values of the company are amazing! The clients and carers are all treated with the utmost respect and are made to feel like a crucial part of the team which they are.

What do you enjoy or find most rewarding about your role?

I find the most rewarding part to be the feeling of knowing that any clients are treated in the best way possible. I know that our care team that we put forward are ready to help in any way or any shape.

Can you share a memorable moment or achievement that you have experienced as a caregiver?

A memorable moment as a caregiver was organising a couple who lived in the home I was working at to have a romantic Valentines day. We set up candles, balloons, bunting, and lots of other decorations. They had a special 3 course meal and we played a song for them to dance to which was the same one played at their wedding 60 years earlier.

Do you have any pets? If so, what?

I have 1 Dog called Maisie and a guinea pig.

What’s your favourite thing about working with your colleagues?

My favourite thing about working with my colleagues is how all of the personalities work so well together. Everyone listens to each others ideas and work well as a team.

What’s the most interesting thing you have learnt in the past month?

You don't know the gender of a tortoise until it's 5 years old.
