Right at Home receives prestigious Investors in People Award
Published: 24/09/2024
Right at Home Alton and Bordon is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Silver accreditation by Investors in People (IIP). This global benchmark is a significant achievement for the home care provider and shows their commitment to making work a better place for all its staff.
Right at Home began its Investors in People journey earlier this year, with the purpose of enhancing workplace culture, communication and employee engagement.
As part of their assessment, the IIP team conducted an extensive audit process, which included a company-wide survey, focus groups, and individual interviews with many members of the team. This thorough evaluation provided a comprehensive understanding of the organisation’s strengths and areas for development.
Alastair Shanks, Managing Director at Right at Home Alton and Bordon says: “We are absolutely delighted to have earned Silver status on our first attempt at Investors in People. Investing in the process is a clear sign of our ambition to be the best employer so we attract the best people for our highly valued clients.
“Throughout my career, I have worked in a few businesses with very different cultures and values - sometimes intentionally set by the leaders of the business, sometimes just what has developed over the years. We have an amazing culture at Right at Home which has grown around the value of Trust, Quality, Compassion and Respect. I never want to take what we have for granted and believe there is always room for improvement which is why I am so excited to be working with the Investors in People team to create a framework for making further improvements.”
As part of the assessment, the IIP team highlighted areas where Right at Home can be proud. The feedback included comments such as:
‘Your people say overwhelmingly what a great organisation that Right at Home is to work for.’
‘Your people love how caring and supportive Right at Home is as an employer.’
‘Your line managers are supportive, accessible and involved with their teams and clients.’
‘Your flexible working practices are hugely appreciated and recognise individuals needs and requirements depending on their individual situations.’
Alastair Shanks adds: “The accreditation is for three years which gives us plenty of time to work on creating an even better working environment for our carers and office support team. We have a full report from the IIP team detailing their findings and recommendations for improvement and are looking forward to working closely with them on our journey to excellence.”
