Right at Home Aylesbury Vale and Chiltern organises CPR event in partnership with British Heart Foundation
Director of Right at Home Aylesbury Vale and Chiltern Giles Ellerton invited locals in Aston Clinton to an event where they learnt how to learn to carry out CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) using the RevivR App from the British Heart Foundation. With the help of the App, their mobile phone and camera, and a cushion, learners were able to simulate giving CPR using the right techniques, compression rates, and positioning to help safe a life. RevivR App was created by the British Heart Foundation in order to raise awareness about how to learn and refresh knowledge about CPR. Michael Stevens, one of the attendees was able tell when he was given CPR seven years ago following a Cardiac Arrest. His heart had stopped for 12 minutes, but thanks to the help of a friend who was a retired nurse, she started giving CPR almost immediately, and was able to keep him going until Paramedics were on hand and also used a defibrillator to administer shocks to start his heart.
Working with the British Heart Foundation Right at Home is working to get 5,000 downloads of the App in 2023 across the UK Right at home Network.
