Festive Season 2022

Published: 23/02/2023
A bit about our clients:
As a care company, one of our biggest challenges is tackling isolation and loneliness. We pride ourselves on being able to brighten someone’s day. We all have busy lives but for 1 hour a day they may be the only individual a client sees all day or all week. We look to ensure it is a happy positive experience and we can give a little back to the community that has done so much before for our generation. The festive period can be particularly lonely. Some of our vulnerable clients have no family or unable to get out and about and often feel lonely, low of mood and dreading the festive season.
What we did:
We bought all our clients a beautifully decorative tin of ginger biscuits. A plan was formed to personally deliver each tin of biscuits before Christmas along with a Christmas card. Many of the cards had personal notes written in them from their Caregivers. We also took the time to write Christmas cards to past care givers. Just because they are no longer a part of the Right at Home Barnet & Edgware team, we feel it is important they know they still have support and if necessary, a place to come back to if they need us. We also sent handwritten cards to clients that no longer required care from us. Just because they are no longer with us, doesn’t mean they may not need our support in the future, and they are still in our thoughts. This year we opted for a more eco friendly gift bag to give our clients and caregivers, every year, huge amounts of festive season wrapping paper ends up in landfill, as it is often made with a mix of materials or has shiny and metallic patterns printed on it. This festive season, lots of households will be opting for more eco-friendly alternatives, like fabric sheets, brown paper, and reusable gift bags. We will be using more of these eco-friendly gift bags in future.

Hi Chirag
Thank you for your exciting email!!
Unfortunately, I need to go out tomorrow so there will be no one available to answer the door until 1pm tomorrow.
Many thanks
Kathryn

Dear Nikesh, Julie, Chirag, and the team, thank you very much for the Xmas Goodies you dropped off yesterday for Ramaben. It brought a smile to mum’s face when we showed her the card and the present. Today morning, she tried the ginger biscuit and there was a bigger smile, and she said the taste was delicious!!!! Thank you again for all your help in caring for mum. Have a Merry Xmas and our best wishes to you all for the New Year.
Best
Kash, Bunshri & Chandaria Family

How we used this experience for future care:
We are providing more than a service. To us its personal and important to treat our clients how we would want our own family members to be treated. It enhances our belief that we endeavour to go above and beyond for our clients and staff.
It creates a welcoming and kind atmosphere to new clients and helps those who are nervous about the transition in to receiving care and support a little easier. Applying the personal touch ensures that clients know who is arranging and supporting their care within the office and allows the office staff to build relationships of trust outside the boundaries of the office.
