Quality Homecare Services in Royston

Right at Home Bishop's Stortford & Braintree is a highly rated elderly care and homecare provider supporting clients in Royston and the surrounding areas. We provide a discrete, personalised domiciliary care service, tailored to individual clients' needs and wishes.

We offer set times for all our support visits - you will not be waiting around wondering if your breakfast call is going to be 7am or 10am. We provide caring and reliable CareGivers at the times we have agreed with you. Our CareGivers are fully DBS checked and they have been provided with industry-leading training. The team is close-knit and dedicated to providing you with an outstanding service.

Right at Home's ethos is that we do not provide rushed care. We make full use of the time we are with you, however, we like to do this at the right pace, getting to know our clients and building trust.

We encourage effective communication between all team members, clients and their families - this helps to build trust and enables us to deliver consistent, quality care. The team is trained to spot changing needs, or any other concerns, and to report them back to the office so that we can act in a responsive way.

If you’re looking for bespoke homecare in Royston, or surrounding areas, we’re more than happy to help.

How Does it Work?

Initially, our team will work to understand the type of support you need. This is typically over the phone to begin with, where we'll take the time to get to know more about your wishes. Once you decide to proceed with a care package, we will schedule a visit from one of our senior team members to your home for an assessment. This visit typically lasts about two hours, during which time we will gather more detailed information about you and your support preferences. Using this information, we will create a personalised care and support plan.

We aim to start the care package soon after the assessment, although obviously we'll be guided by you here on exactly when you would like it to start.

Our goal is to start off in the best way possible, investing time during the initial stages to ensure everything is set up correctly. We may need to make small adjustments over the first few weeks to perfect the plan, and we strive to implement these changes quickly to meet your needs.

We conduct regular reviews with clients to ensure the care package continues to meet your needs. The care and support plan is a dynamic document that we will update as your needs change, whether that means increasing or decreasing the level of care provided.

At Right at Home Bishop's Stortford and Braintree, we regularly conduct in-person assessments of our CareGivers. This quality control process allows us to observe the excellent work of our team firsthand, acknowledge their efforts, and identify any areas for improvement to maintain our high service standards.

Meet our friendly team that will do everything they can to help you

My team and I are passionate about improving the quality of life for our Clients and enabling them to live safely and happily in their own homes. That's why we recruit and train CareGivers with a genuine passion for helping people in our local community. Our preferred visits are a minimum of one hour, so time can be given to provide quality care that isn't rushed, with an ethos that is driven by positive outcomes rather than simply by need.

Live-in Care

Right at Home Bishop's Stortford and Braintree offers live-in care as a viable alternative to residential care, allowing you to stay in the comfort of your home even if you require advanced levels of support. This option can also be more cost-effective, especially for couples.

Live-in care is gaining in popularity as many prefer to remain at home rather than move into a residential care home. To make this possible, you need a spare room for the live-in CareGiver, who will stay with you and follow a personalised care plan, created with your input.

The CareGiver will need a two-hour break each day for rest. Other arrangements, such as food and the length of their stay, are flexible and tailored to your needs.

Typically, the CareGiver works for ten hours each day. The duration of their stay depends on individual circumstances and client preferences. We strive to create a comfortable and agreeable timetable for our clients.

Regarding meals, the CareGiver will generally assist with meal preparation and dine with you, but we will adjust to ensure it works according to your preferences. We aim to accommodate each client’s specific needs.

Live-in care is often favoured because it allows you to remain in familiar surroundings, avoiding the disruption of moving to residential care. You can stay with your cherished memories and belongings, enjoying activities you love, whether it's watching your favourite TV shows, gardening, or welcoming family and friends into your home. Your CareGiver is there to assist as much or as little as you need.

Clients often develop a special bond with their CareGiver, who becomes both a lifelong companion and a CareGiver. This arrangement also allows clients to continue enjoying the company of their beloved pets.

We have a video overview of our live-in care service available on this page, and a detailed blog on the topic, which you can view by clicking here.
