Live-in care – an alternative to residential care
We know that many families instinctively consider residential care homes when care needs reach a critical point. However, these days, there is a real and viable alternative.
Did you know that as well as providing hourly homecare services, Right at Home Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree also offers full time live-in care?
Live-in care allows Clients to continue living in the comfort and familiarity of their own home, with a live-in CareGiver, who is there to assist them with their typical daily routine.
How does live-in care work?
Live-in care means one of our professional and trusted CareGivers will live with your loved one in their own home, allowing them to receive the one-to-one personalised care and companionship they need, day or night.
For many families, particularly those living far away, live-in care is the best option for peace of mind that their loved one is safe and supported at home.
What are the benefits of live-in care?
- Avoid the disruption of moving into residential care and remain living in familiar surroundings with all of your treasured memories and possessions
- Concentrate on the things you enjoy doing, whether that’s watching your favourite TV programmes, pottering around the house, gardening or simply welcoming friends and family into your home – your carer is there to help as little or as much as you need
- Couples can continue living together as partners
- Continue to eat your favourite meals at the time of your choosing, rather than fitting into regimented times and set menus
- Receive help with household and domestic tasks
- Build a special bond with your CareGiver who becomes a companion for life as well as a carer vs a constant rotation of carers sharing responsibility for many residents
- Continue to enjoy the company of treasured pets and receive help looking after them
Our dedicated live-in CareGivers:
