Kindness Matters

Did you know that giving can have a really positive impact on your wellbeing?
People who are kind and compassionate can accrue many benefits. The simple act of giving can bring you closer to others, give you a sense of purpose and boost your self-esteem. This can be especially important for people who are lonely and isolated. Volunteering and helping others can help us feel a sense of belonging, make new friends, and connect with our communities.
Many people don’t realise the impact a different perspective can have on their outlook on life. There is some evidence that being aware of our own acts of kindness, as well as the things we are grateful for, can increase feelings of happiness, optimism and satisfaction. Doing good may help you to have a more positive outlook about your own circumstances.
The picture in this article is of one of our clients, Leslie. Leslie is often seen out and about in his local area picking up rubbish and putting it in the bin. His local park is spotless, because of Leslie! Locals recognise and value the benefit that Leslie provides to his local area. Great work Leslie!
