Meet Antoinette, making a Difference, one day at a time

For Antoinette, care isn't just a job; it's about creating moments of joy and making a real difference to people's lives. Her proudest moment in care speaks volumes: securing an electric bath seat for a client who hadn't enjoyed a shower in over a decade and a bath in over twenty years. Witnessing the pure, unadulterated joy on that client's face as she finally experienced the simple pleasure of a warm bath and hair wash – that's the kind of impactful change Antoinette wants to achieve.

"I got into care because I wanted a more rewarding job," she shares, "One where I felt I could make a small difference in someone’s day." Whether it's being a friendly face, sharing a cup of tea, lending an ear, or ensuring someone's comfort, every interaction matters.  While Antoinette is now more office-based than she used to be, her passion for care remains unwavering. From answering calls and conducting assessments to providing training and handling on-call duties, she embraces the variety and the opportunity to positively impact lives.  Amidst all this, she still gets out to see clients regularly.

Antoinette's diverse background, spanning retail and catering management, childminding, pub landlady, and a career as a Tesco manager, alongside being a full-time mum, has equipped her with a wealth of life experience and a deep understanding not just of people but also of her five cats: Toulouse, Dotty, Diddy, Baloo and Bagheera who are between 11 and 15 years old.  When she's not making a difference at work, you'll find her enjoying the stunning views of Poole Harbour from Sea View, spending quality time with her husband and family, exploring new places on days out and holidays, or indulging in her love for reading and crochet. She also enjoys local cultural events, having seen bands like Rufus Stone and The Style Council, and comedians like Romesh Ranganathan and Ricky Gervais.

Antoinette's genuine empathy, dedication, and ability to connect with people make her an invaluable part of our team. She reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can create the biggest impact.
