Covid-19 – What we are doing to Reduce the Risk on our Homecare Services in Bromley, Beckenham, Chislehurst and Orpington

Homecare Services in Bromley
One of the main things that has been on people’s mind these last few months has undoubtedly been Covid-19. As a homecare service in Bromley, providing an essential service in the area, we have put measures in place to reduce the impact of Covid-19 on our service.
Thankfully none of our clients have had Covid-19 and we put this to rigorous procedures we have put in place. We have done the following since the pandemic started.
- Put procedures and policies in place
At the beginning of the pandemic, we quickly put procedures and policies in place and promptly communicated with caregivers and clients alike in letters, emails and telephone calls on what these procedures were. We communicated with our caregivers on the symptoms of covid-19, and what to do if they came across this. We further issued guidance on rigorous hand washing and home cleaning to reduce the spread of infection.
- Bulk purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Whilst many other care providers were struggling to source enough PPE, through Right at Home national office we brought a bulk purchase of masks, gloves, aprons, visors, hand gel and other necessary PPE. All of our caregivers have had enough PPE to carry out their work safely.
- Time table
We carefully looked at caregiver’s timetables to ensure they were only going to a small group of regular clients.
- Ongoing assurance
Coming out of lockdown, we haven’t put our gas off the pedal. We have continually stocked up on PPE and have continually communicated with our caregivers regarding the use of PPE. Many of our clients have commented how we have continually provided a safe and reliable service throughout the lockdown period. Many of our caregivers stepped up in times of need and provided essential reassurance to our clients when family were not able to see them. Caregivers were flexible and did many tasks which family members were not able to do. We thank our brilliant caregivers for the fabulous job they have done!
We very much believe that having a homecare service is safe, as you see the same caregiver regularly. In comparison to carehomes, homecare can provide an essential service at home that is safe, reliable and comforting.
