"It was a wonderful day and it was lovely to chat with so many people about the homecare services we currently offer. There was also lots of excitement about the new Love to Move programme coming to Bromley town centre."

Raja Singh Lohia | Managing Director, Right At Home Bromley

We were delighted to be present at the annual Hayes Fair at The Warren in Coney Hall and thankfully the weather was good!

We spoke with many visitors to the well-attended event, promoting the homecare and personal care services Right At Home offer to the residents of Bromley borough. Our new offering of a chair-based exercise class at Bromley URC Church in the town centre called "Love to Move" created a lot of interest and we look forward to welcoming attendees to our new free classes soon.

It was a busy day with dog display teams, several schools and drama clubs performing and lots and lots of well stocked and imaginative stalls.  The Hayes Village Bottle Tombola was a particular highlight!  Another stall, Alines Tea Cosies, was full of bright, colourful knitted items including a wonderful array of very creative tea cosies all sold in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Aline's daughter Rebecca.  Aline and her tea cosies can be found on Facebook.  For children there were bouncy castles and a rotating chair swing like the fair grounds of old.

Lucy Seidler, Community & Engagement Officer for Right At Home Bromley tried out the various vision glasses from the IRIS Bus, owned by Kent Association for the Blind.  It was very illuminating (no pun intended) to experience varying degrees of sight as given by the glasses which mimicked the effects of various eye conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts.  "I now have a much better understanding of how people must feel with these conditions," she said.  We brought lots of information back to the office to help our carers better help those we care for, so do please ask your carer or call the office on 020 8150 6272 if you would like any further information on Kent Association for the Blind. Similarly, please do call if you are in need of any homecare or personal care within the borough of Bromley or if you would like details of our Love to Move fitness group.

It was such a happy and joyful day and the setting so perfect that people were reluctant to leave. We do hope you will be able to visit our stand at the Fair this time next year; it's a great day out.
