Mark Appleton

Director

Our Managing Director and business owner Mark Appleton is new to the Right at Home network but has gained a lot of experience with supporting the elderly over the years through other parts of his working life.

Mark started his career as an engineer and then moved to Management Consulting where he worked with a number of local authorities on Health and Social Care before becoming an Operations Director in Saudi Arabia. On his return to the UK after seeing first-hand the impact of quality care with his father suffering from dementia he decided to set up a very successful Wiltshire Farm Foods franchise which he still continues to run today. However, with some external impacts the next step was to move into care, and he was naturally drawn to the ethos and values which Right at Home espouses.

“I am passionate about being a quality service provider as well as an employer of choice” Mark explains. “Every measure of how the business runs is based on ’is this the level of care my Dad would have wanted’ or ’is the way I would want to be treated as an employee’ and I am sure that this is how we are seen. I am determined that our team will provide the best care across Bromsgrove, Redditch, Droitwich and the surrounding areas. To achieve that we are recruiting and retaining the very best CareGivers. We have a rigorous recruitment programme, great induction and training and provide professional but fun support to all our staff. This will cascade down to the care that our CareGivers provide.

“We will strive to provide the very best care, making a difference every day. We will always aim to keep Clients, safe, secure and supported in their own homes at all times, ensuring that they and their loved ones are informed of any changes, and we respond to requests swiftly.

“It is a hugely rewarding thing to be doing. We really do make a huge difference to people’s lives, whether that is by providing full-time, live-in care for someone with advancing dementia or assisting an older person to stay independent by helping with their shopping once a week.

“I am married and we have a teenage daughter and two dogs and two cats. In my off time, I am very involved in the local rowing club.

“If you would like to discuss our care services with me, or have a chat about a career in care, please do not hesitate to contact us and I shall be pleased to get back to you.”
