New Sunflower Café opens in Frimley

A new café for people with dementia and their carers has launched in Frimley.
The Sunflower Café is hosted by local home care provider Right at Home GF on the last Friday of the month at St Peter’s Church on Frimley Green Road.
Liz Young, from Right at Home GF says: “We now have seven Sunflower Cafes in the area which provide a safe and welcoming environment for people with dementia.
“Anybody who comes along can expect to enjoy a lovely cuppa, biscuits and some great company in an informal setting. As well as offering social opportunities for people with dementia, the cafes provide opportunities for carers to share experiences, tips and advice with others in a similar situation.”
Guy regularly attends a nearby Sunflower Café and describes it as: “A very mixed group of ladies and gentlemen with super volunteers, and an outstanding leader. We never leave without having a laugh and we always look forward to the next session."
Frimley’s next Sunflower Café is on 28 February followed by 28 March. The café is sponsored by Camberley Rotary, the Parish of Frimley and Frimley Fuel Allotments. See https://www.rightathome.co.uk/camberley/ for more information.
