Our Director of Care Holly Jones

Our Director of Care, Holly Jones is a passionate leader who cares about making a positive difference and enabling her team to achieve their ambitions. Holly began her career at Right At Home in 2013 as a Caregiver in the community, and progressed through the ranks, with 2022 seeing her appointed to the position of Director of Care for Right At Home Cardiff and Newport.

Holly is not just a strong leader within Right at Home, she is also a mum of two young children, and as such understands first-hand the challenges women can face in their career with juggling a work and home life balance. Holly is able to use her own lived experience to support her team, and does so on a daily basis.

She is also a huge advocate for progression within the work place, and in her time at Right at Home has supported her fellow women in progressing in their career, seeing members of her team promoted to senior and managerial positions. Having such a strong female leader at Right at Home Cardiff and Newport has inspired our team, giving them a strong female role model to look up too.

It is Holly’s passion and commitment to the care sector that has supported her in her career and seen her progress to the position of Director of Care, a huge achievement for anyone, but especially for women in care.

Speaking on her position, Holly stated; “I have always been passionate about care, since first starting in the sector as a Caregiver. I am really proud of my career with Right at Home, and all I have achieved, and I am excited to be able to support my fellow women in the sector with reaching their own goals and dreams”

Our Finance Manager Charlotte O’Donoghue

Charlotte also began her career as a Caregiver in 2014 here at Right At Home. Charlotte has now progressed to Finance Manager, a position that requires huge skill and trust, and is now responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial support at Right At Home, whilst supporting and managing her own individual team of strong women.

Charlotte is a great example of how progression with Right At Home is not just limited to care related roles. Charlotte has been supported in developing within her finance role, and in turn, is supporting members of her own team in progressing in this sector.

Charlotte said; Right at Home has given me the opportunity to be able to excel in my career and has provided many opportunities throughout the years. Being a woman in a management I feel supported by those around me and I hope that progression can encourage and show others that it is possible to achieve, within any aspect of their career, should they wish to do so.”

Our CareGiver Finlay Murphy

When Finlay joined Right at Home Cardiff & Newport in 2020, she was completely new to the social care sector. Since joining she has built phenomenal relationships with her Clients and colleagues.

Finlay is the perfect advocate for people working in the sector, she truly believes in giving something back to the community and supporting people who cannot support themselves. So much so, that she nominated one of her Clients, Maisie, for our Tin Full of Wishes Campaign. Having spent a large number of her companionship calls with Maisie visiting the lake to feed the ducks, Finlay nominated her to fly owls at the British Birds of Prey Centre

It’s because of Finlay’s determination to go above and beyond for her Clients that she was crowned Newcomer of The Year at the Great British Care Awards. At only age 23, she has made a huge impact in Clients’ lives and is a credit to the Right at Home team.

Finlay said: “It meant a lot to me to be crowned Newcomer of the Year at the Great British Care Awards. Women aren’t always recognised for their achievements so I’m proud to have been one of them - and at my age too! I felt overwhelmed when I won as there were so many deserving finalists. I love working in care, so this award was like the cherry on the cake!”
