Here at Right at Home, Cardiff & Newport we have a large combined team but given the nature of the business we are naturally split into office and external teams, this is then further divided depending on each working role.
Each individual whether they are providing client care or office support are all focusing on the same goal, to make a positive difference to the lives of those we care for.
Our team building days allows us to collaborate across the departments to work on the same targets for the day, whilst having fun. To keep things going throughout the day we include games such as: guess Who, Bingo and a quiz, plus all staff can enjoy listening to their music selections.
Snacks and drinks for staff to help themselves throughout the day are provided. Finally as a thank you for everything, staff received a little gift to take home.
Andrew Walsh our Registered Manager said, “Our high performance, team building days are an essential component in ensuring we maintain high productivity whilst focusing on culture, fun and team spirit. The volume of work produced on the day always exceeds even my expectation and has to be my favourite day of the month. It is incredible to see in the midst of the fun, music and games that we play throughout the day to make the 12hour day fun for all just how high the output is. Individually we achieve each day, when we combine our efforts with single minded purpose we can do so much more.”
These team-building workdays are great to enable staff to get together and work on something different. They bring people together and really help build motivation and communication. Further to this, they often create long lasting memories and the odd laugh!
Enjoyable and fun activities are proven to help staff get to know each other, create a better understanding of each other and break down walls of mistrust by encouraging people to focus on what they have in common rather than their differences.
We are ONE team – the RIGHT AT HOME, Cardiff & Newport team and each part of the business has its own unique incentives to encourage growth and development. By the very nature of one team being together every day in the office and then another, much larger team being out in the community it determines the type and style of team building opportunities we can offer in terms of them being realistic, the participation and/or interest shown, the logistics and overall practicality. When the office is dealing with compliance. Regulation, work scheduling, commissioning, and growing the business the community teams are busy executing the service delivery and providing our clients with the care we commission and the care our clients need. We need each other to do the job we do; we value each other for the job we do, and we are here to support one another and celebrate achievement for the successes we accomplish along the way.
When a team work as one and yet can understand and appreciate the differences between roles it is a wondrous thing. We applaud you all for the work you do. Thank you
