Hello! I'm Donna, and I've been a care manager with Right at Home Cheshire East since November 2018. My journey in the care sector began in 2008, and over the years, I've worn many hats, each offering its unique challenges and rewards. What drives me? I'm driven by the strategic management of the carers and clients I mentor, ensuring that we provide not just home care but home care service that genuinely makes a difference.

Three aspects of my role fill me with joy and pride every day. Firstly, the opportunity for personal growth and career development under the mentorship of leaders who share my values and push me to exceed my own expectations. Secondly, I'm passionate about contributing to the development of my colleagues. Sharing knowledge and learning has a multiplying effect, enhancing our collective ability to offer compassionate, person-centred care. Lastly, meeting people, understanding their stories, and using this insight to support them in achieving positive outcomes is incredibly rewarding. Each story enriches our practice, guiding us in offering more nuanced and effective elderly care at home.

Living in Stretford offers me the perfect backdrop for my personal pursuits. When I'm not immersed in homecare assistance or dementia home care planning, I find solace in reading, a gateway to other worlds and perspectives. Travelling is another passion, offering endless opportunities to explore and learn. Hiking allows me to reconnect with nature, grounding me and providing a fresh perspective with every trek.
If I were on a desert island, I'd need a boat—not just for the practical escape it offers but also as a symbol of adventure and the unknown journeys that lie ahead. While I don't have any pets to share these adventures with, my life is full of connections and relationships that enrich every day.

On a more personal note, my commitment to improving the quality of life for those requiring care and support is more than just a professional duty; it's a calling. Armed with health and social care qualifications, a healthcare management degree, and a chartered manager qualification, my goal is to lead by example, setting a standard of high-quality care for others to emulate. This mission isn't just about providing palliative care or elderly home care; it's about uplifting the entire social care sector, one person-centred care plan at a time.
