Hey there! I'm Leon, and I've been part of the Right at Home Cheshire East family as a Senior Night Carer since the winter of 2020. Stepping into this role in December was one of my best decisions. It marked a journey filled with growth, compassion, and the privilege of caring for others at night when they need it the most.

Being caring and compassionate isn't just what I do; it's who I am. These essential qualities drive me every night as I provide elderly care at home, ensuring our clients feel safe, supported, and understood during the hours when the world quiets down.

There are countless aspects of my job that I cherish, but if I had to highlight the top three, they would be:
The profound satisfaction that comes from caring for people is extraordinary. There's something extraordinary about making someone's night safer and more comfortable.

I am grateful for the rewarding nature of my work. Every smile, thank you, and moment of peace I can bring to someone's night reminds me of my impact.

The endless learning opportunities. Whether enhancing my skills in night care or understanding the unique needs of those with dementia, every shift is a chance to grow.

Home for me is Gee Cross in Hyde, where I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by the love and chaos of my four Staffordshire Bull Terriers: Phoebe, Paige, Phoenix, and Penny. They're not just pets but part of my support system, providing endless joy and companionship.

Outside of work, my life is filled with hobbies that keep me active and bring me peace. Walking my dogs is more than exercise; it's my time to reflect, connect with nature, and enjoy the simple moments. Ice skating is my escape, a chance to glide away from life's stresses and embrace a feeling of freedom. And then there's my love for holidays—I treasure the opportunity to explore new places, experience different cultures, and make memories with my family.

Speaking of family, they are my world. If I found myself on a desert island, they're the one thing I couldn't live without. My family is my strength, motivation, and the reason I strive to be the best version of myself – both professionally and personally.

My journey in-home care, particularly in night care, has taught me the value of every interaction, the importance of kindness, and the impact of dedicated care. It's more than a job; it's a calling that has allowed me to make a real difference in the lives of those I care for. And for anyone considering a career in care, know that it's a path filled with challenges.
