How long have you been running your business?
We have been CQC registered since the end of January 2021 and able to provide services from that point.
Did you start the business from scratch or take over an existing business?
We are a brand new homecare provider in the area, part of a national award-winning franchise network.
What do you like about running a business in this part of West Sussex and what changes have you seen in the local area since working here? The sense of community in our local area is really strong and aligns so well with our own company ethos & values. Our service has been very well received by everyone we speak to and we love how we can get out and connect our community.
What changes have you made to improve the business and what plans do you have for the future?
Our focus now and in the future is the wellbeing of our clients and care team. We pride ourselves on being truly person-centred in relation to our clients, and on our open-door culture for our team. We are looking forward to being able to do more work in the community when the lockdown restrictions are eased. One of our first activities will be organising a Dementia Friends session to educate local residents and provide a get together for families affected by dementia.
What is your professional background / How did you get to be where you are now?
I left a successful career in publishing operations to start a family in 2016. After our daughter Dulcie arrived, my husband and I decided to make the move from London to the South coast and were immediately struck by the warm sense of community in our local area. Being part of the community was really important and through joining local groups I got to know and understand some of challenges faced by our more vulnerable residents.
I had been considering a move into care for a while and was lucky enough to be provided that opportunity in 2019. It was still a huge decision, but a personal life event cemented my chosen path as the right one.
When I saw the inconsistency of care that my Father received and the confusion that created for him and us as a family, I knew then that I wanted to provide a level of care in people’s homes that was dignified, bespoke to them and that enabled independence for as long as possible.
I’m now the owner of Right at Home Chichester & Bognor Regis and so proud to say we can offer our Clients a service that is Trusted, Honest and completely Person-Centred. Our aim is to help our Clients live in the comfort of their own homes for as long as they can; we offer consistency of CareGivers so our Clients and their families are always seeing the same friendly faces and feel right at home.
What is the main product or service that you offer?
Homecare spanning personal care, companionship, respite care, dementia care and hospital to home.
Who is your target market?
Adults 18+ years old
What do you feel are the main differences between your business and your competitors?
We offer a variety of care services to seniors and adults with both physical and mild learning disabilities. Our services are customised to every individual through a Personal Care Plan and are provided by highly-trained CareGivers who are the best in the business.
- Our Clients receive the full time that they pay for, as we travel in our own time
- Visits are never rushed – our preferred visit time is a minimum of one hour
- CareGivers are carefully matched and, if time allows, introduced before they begin delivering care
- We have a professional dress code but do not wear a uniform, as we recognise that some of our Clients would prefer a discreet service when we accompany them out and about in the local community
- We are quick to react, vigilant in our duty of care and always aim to raise a smile
What makes your business successful?
Our people and our links to the local community
