Bringing Social Care to Life: Our Latest Campaign To Share The Best Of Social Care

We are really excited to announce our newest campaign, "Bringing Social Care to Life." This initiative has been created to cast a light on the amazing work that people in social care do, as well as the vital role of home care plays in our communities. Over the coming weeks, we will release a series of engaging and informative videos that cover all aspects of our work, covering some key topics such as recruitment, training, quality assurance, employee support, and raising awareness about the profound impact of home care. We’ve specially built this campaign on the back of the questions we are asked by local people, and also to fill in the knowledge/awareness gaps we regularly see in the sector locally.

Why are we "Bringing Social Care to Life"?

At Right at Home Chippenham, we live and breath social care day in day out. Our people work tirelessly to literally change lives everyday, whether it’s remembering how a client takes their morning coffee without needing to be asked, to remembering significant dates that are important to their life or the fact that they like to have the curtains ¾ of the way open in the spare bedroom. Small acts can have a profound impact on a person’s mood and emotions, and we are proud to deliver that difference.

Home care is more than just a service; it's a lifeline for many individuals and families. Our campaign aims to showcase the dedication, skill, and compassion that our team brings to this essential field, whilst promoting careers in care for people who want to make that difference, and be that difference, but don’t know where to start. We want to provide a behind-the-scenes look at how we ensure the highest standards of care and support for our clients and their loved ones.

Recruitment: Finding the Right People

The foundation of quality home care lies in its people, from the people who deliver the hands-on care to clients and are on the front line, from early frosty mornings, to late dark nights, week in week out, even on Christmas Day. One of the first videos in our series will focus on our recruitment process, helping you to understand not only the responsibilities of the job, but the support available & the real impact you can have on others. We will take you through the steps we take to find individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. You'll meet some of our team members and hear their stories, discovering what drew them to this rewarding career.

Training: Building Excellence

The core element required to be a CareGiver, is a caring nature. Our Director often says ‘as long as you care & have access to a vehicle you can use for work, we can teach you the rest’, because it is that true. We can’t teach someone to care, but if you join us with a caring nature, we will invest in you, and train you to be able to:

  • Move & assist people safely
  • Handle medication while keeping your clients wishes at the heart of your actions
  • Complete CPR
  • Deliver basic first aid
  • Safeguard adults from abuse
  • Learn to communicate with clients in different ways
  • Understand risk assessments
  • Know how to reduce someone’s risks of falls
  • Be aware of Mental Capacity & how people are allowed to make unwise decisions
  • Know how to use a Defibrillator
  • Understand Dementia & how it impacts someone
  • Increase your awareness of Learning Disabilities & Autism

This, and so much more!

Quality care requires continuous learning and improvement, which is why we want to bring it to life in our videos, where we talk through & even show snippets of how we deliver training that enables us to get 4.8* training feedback from our people.

Employee Support: Building & maintaining a Caring Community

Caring for our CareGivers is just as important as caring for our clients, bevause without a team of supported and valued CareGivers, we simply couldn’t care for the amount of clients we have. Our campaign will highlight the support systems we have in place for our CareGivers, and you’ll even hear from people who have progressed in their career with us & a member of our team who joined us on a sponsorship license. From mental health resources to regular get togethers, we are committed to enhancing our supportive and inclusive culture. Happy and well-supported CareGivers are the backbone of social care, and indeed, the backbone of Right at Home Chippenham.

Awareness: Understanding Home Care's Impact

One of the key our campaign aims is to raise awareness about the significance of home care, but more importantly to educate people as to what home care is, how it works, what is costs & how to approach the conversation with loved ones. Many people are unaware of the extensive services available and the positive impact they can have on the community & indeed to their loved ones. Habing seen first hand the real-life stories and people we’ve helped, we hope to educate and inform the public about the crucial role of home care in promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life.
