Manchester Memory Walk 2024
Raising funds and awareness for dementia
Published: 15/10/2024
Yesterday's Manchester Memory Walk 2024 was truly inspiring! Thousands gathered at Heaton Park to show their support for the Alzheimer's Society and raise crucial funds for those living with dementia.
A big thank you to our incredible team member, Denise Robinson, who not only participated in the walk but also brought a touch of magic by dressing as a unicorn! Lisa and Vicky joined the 4 mile walk around the park, and felt amazing to once again be part of this annual event aimed at highlighting the importance of providing support and information for those effected by this devasting disease.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated or sponsored us. Together, we raised a total of £400.
By 2040, over 1.4 million people in the UK are projected to be living with dementia. This makes it the nation's most significant health and social care crisis. To address this urgent challenge, further research into potential cures for dementia is absolutely crucial.
In our role as a home care provider supporting individuals with dementia in Blackburn, Hyndburn, and the Ribble Valley, we have first-hand knowledge of the significant impact this condition can have on family members.
