Waddington Golden Cinema Launch

Right at Home East Lancashire and Ribble Valley held a launch evening to celebrate the opening of their Golden Cinema in Waddington. The evening took place at the Waddington Village social club, which is in the heart of the village.

Local residents and members of the surrounding community, received an invitation to join us for a glass of fizz, to celebrate the the official launch!

Guests enjoyed a glass of prosecco, nibbles, a film quiz - including prizes and a special appearance from Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans.

Nigel, delivered a very complimentary speech, applauding Right at Home East Lancs contribution towards creating social events for the senior community and the beneficial impact it can have, on combating loneliness and isolation in vulnerable adults.

He said: "Thank you to Right at Home for your outstanding contribution to the senior community in the Ribble Valley. You have created a safe space for older people to come together, be entertained and feel a sense of belonging." 

Local councillor Sophie Cowman, who also attended the evening added: "What an amazing initiative. I'm glad you are bringing this to waddington."

Julie Foote, owner of Right at Home East Lancashire, said:" We're well aware from providing care to our clients in their homes, that health, well-being, and community engagement are all linked. There's nothing worse than feeling lonely and isolated, so we wanted to set up an event that included something enjoyable, with the chance to make new friends.

Julie, also added: "Our CareGivers, who also attend the event, are  trained in dementia care, learning disabilities and autism, and health and safety. They are able to provide support at the event."

The Golden Cinema is not just for our own clients, but also available for anyone 65 and over, in the Ribble Valley area. Family members and CareGivers are also welcome to attend this event.
