Art exhibition demonstrates Right at Home’s ‘lasting impact’ on older communities

An art exhibition curated by Right at Home Solent is showcasing the profound impact community engagement and outstanding care can have on people’s lives.

The unique exhibition, on display at Fareham Library until September 13, features heart-warming quotes weaved between floral-themed craft creations from RaH Solent’s treasured Clients.

The concept was born from Marketing Assistant Lucy Cull and Recruitment Coordinator Jazz Sim. They believed the creative pieces, made throughout the year at RaH Solent's sociable coffee clubs, deserved public recognition.

These clubs aim to stamp out loneliness and isolation by stimulating interaction and engagement among Clients.

The Mayor of Fareham has praised the exhibition, describing it as not only a celebration of artistic talent but of the dedication and support RaH Solent provides to enable people to live fulfilling and enriched lives.

Attending the grand opening of the exhibition on August 10, Councillor Pal Hayre added: “The arts and crafts displayed in Fareham Library are more than just beautiful pieces of work, they are a testament to the resilience, creativity and spirit of our community members.

“Thank you to Right at Home Solent for your unwavering commitment to our community and to the Clients and families you support, and to all the artists who have shared their creativity and hearts with us.”

Amy Popat, Owner of RaH Solent, said: “The exhibition is a true example of how engaging our older communities in meaningful activity can have a lasting effect.

“The words which weave through the exhibition are incredibly touching. I couldn’t be prouder of the team for starting this initiative, and hope it inspires and is enjoyed by many.”

Amy opened RaH Solent with her husband Kev in June 2015. The business has since gone onto receive multiple awards and two consecutive Outstanding ratings from the CQC.
