Female franchise owners from across the network have reflected on an “inspirational” Women in Business event hosted by the team at National Office earlier this month.
The annual event is an opportunity for Franchisees to connect with their peers while enjoying an empowering and thought-provoking itinerary that touches on many aspects of being a woman in business, within a safe and protected environment.
Held at the Kettering Park Hotel on Tuesday, 11 March, we were joined by Paralympic Gold Medallist Naomi Riches, who shared her incredible story of dedication and pushing her mind and body to their limits to achieve her sporting goals.
The retired rowing champion also hosted a workshop on team resilience to help attendees identify and understand behavioural, personality and emotional traits in themselves and others. She explained that understanding these differences makes teams stronger, allowing them to achieve their full potential and drive success.
Jo Kadi, Owner of RaH Bedford, said meeting Naomi was “an honour”. She added: “Listening to her story reminded me of the importance of believing in ourselves, staying focused on our goals, and not letting others' opinions hold us back.”

The rest of the agenda included sessions on overcoming business hurdles and driving growth. Attendees were able to discuss their challenges in small groups before sharing them with the rest of the room and working collaboratively to come up with practical solutions – bringing many great minds to some gnarly problems.
Reflecting on the event, Sam Wright, Owner of RaH High Wycombe & South Bucks, said: “I find that when female business owners are gathered together, we naturally feel more relaxed and able to let our guard down.
“We can speak more openly about how we feel about situations and deal with them, resulting in a deeper sense of support. That’s what the Women in Business event brings to the network.”
Jo agreed, explaining: “As a new franchise owner, it was my first time attending the event. I really enjoyed meeting other female owners and felt inspired by their journeys. Being surrounded by such accomplished women, who have achieved so much in both their personal and professional lives, was truly motivating.
“Talking to them, sharing our experiences, and realising we’ve faced similar challenges made me feel connected.”
Vicky Butler, Owner of RaH Isle of Wight, commented: “It was a fantastic day with an incredible motivational speaker. The sessions helped us gain advice on common issues and I took away some valuable guidance on on business growth, which I have already started to put into practice.”
Mahi Shettiar, Owner of RaH Hillingdon and Uxbridge, also enjoyed connecting with other female Franchisees at the event who have navigated similar challenges and successes.
She added: “Hearing their stories was both inspiring and reassuring, reinforcing the power of a strong network. My key takeaways were the value of resilience in entrepreneurship, and the need to continuously support and uplift our peers on our journeys to success.”
