One of Right at Home’s earliest Franchise Owners is retiring from the business after 13 years, leaving a legacy to be proud of.

Julie Foote opened RaH East Lancashire and Ribble Valley in 2011, when the RaH brand was new to the UK marketplace and the franchise support offering was a fraction of what it is today.

She built the business from a small start-up into a leading provider in the area, with a reputation for quality that's been underpinned by a 10/10 Client review score on homecare.co.uk and years of recognition as a Five Star Employer.

Julie said: “I am incredibly proud to have developed a first-class team of dedicated care professionals - many of whom joined me as CareGivers and have progressed to senior roles in the management team.

“And while it is never an easy decision to walk away from something you love, I know that the team will continue to exceed their Clients' expectations and drive positive outcomes for them and their families.”

RaH East Lancashire is now in the hands of Richard Burgess, Owner of RaH Calderdale.

After two years of running the franchise, Richard has made the decision to expand the area he serves by taking on a second territory.

He plans to further strengthen the East Lancashire business by supporting local events in the community, raising funds for charities and creating new job opportunities.

Reflecting on his journey at RaH, Richard said: “My first experience with Right at Home was when my local branch supported my father to remain at home after he was diagnosed with dementia. The support and care they provided amazed me - every detail was carefully considered to ensure my father received the best quality care possible.

“Making the decision to take ownership of a Right at Home franchise was easy for me and I have no regrets. My own personal journey has fuelled my enthusiasm to provide the same high-quality service my father received to every Client we support.”

Following the takeover in June, the transition has been seamless for Clients, with zero disruption to their usual service and continued visits from regular CareGivers.

Richard added; “I wanted to assure our Clients that the service would continue as normal, that there would be no change from the usual high standard of quality care provided by our amazing CareGivers.”

Commenting on Richard’s takeover, Julie said: “It is particularly pleasing that in taking retirement, I've been able to hand the reins to another RaH Owner who I know shares my values and commitment to our clients and staff. I look forward to seeing RaH East Lancs and Ribble Valley continue to grow and thrive in Richard's capable hands.

“I'd also like to thank Ken, Lucy and the team at RaH UK for their support in helping me to build such a solid and successful business. They have been with me every step of the way, from registration through to completion of sale, navigating through recessions, sector challenges and of course a global pandemic. It's a great team and one I was very glad to be part of.”

Richard and his East Lancashire office team are working together to further strengthen the business in the community.
