An 85-year-old woman has had her “life-long wish” granted thanks to a heart-warming initiative from her homecare provider, Right at Home Exeter and Exmouth.

The franchise recently treated Client, Nancy, to see the Drifters perform live in concert, having committed to reviving the hobbies and interests of those it supports through its Tin Full of Wishes programme.

Nancy, a life-long fan of the band, was accompanied by her CareGiver, Megan Bater on their visit to the Exmouth Corn Exchange.

RaH Exeter and Exmouth said that Nancy regularly reminisces about "the time she heard the Drifters playing from outside a venue on a visit to Jersey", so when the team heard the band was playing in Exmouth, they sprang into action and booked her tickets.

Megan said: "It was very emotional to see Nancy’s face light up the way it did when the show started. You could tell her mood changed as she clapped and sang along.

"Nancy beamed throughout the show and danced to her favourite song - Save the Last Dance for Me.”

Reflecting on her experience Nancy said: “I really enjoyed the show, and I loved singing along to my favourite songs. Thank you to Megan for coming with me to see The Drifters.”

Right at Home Exeter and Exmouth is committed to enhancing the lives of its Clients, not only through exceptional care but also by fulfilling personal dreams.

The 'Tin Full of Wishes' programme will continue to grant meaningful experiences to Clients, one wish at a time.

Registered Manager Kate Derrick, who drove Nancy and Megan to the show, said: “To be able make our Clients’ wishes come true is so heartwarming and reminds us why we’re in this profession – to make a positive difference to people’s lives.

“Nancy became our first Client when we first launched two and a half years ago, so this outing was extra special.”
