RaH’s Celebration Awards return to honour outstanding care teams

The gala dinner brought together Franchise Owners from across the country to recognise inspiring RaH businesses and their dedicated staff.

Our prestigious Celebration Awards made a sparkling return earlier this month to recognise the achievements of local offices and their teams across the entire network.

Franchise Owners from up and down the country were dressed to the nines as they came together to shine a deserving spotlight on those who have gone the extra mile to make a positive difference in their local communities over the last 12 months.

The gala dinner marked the close of RaH’s successful and inspiring Annual Conference at Mottram Hall in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Some 200 people attended the ceremony, which was decorated in gold to reflect the motivational theme of this year’s conference, Going for Gold.

Coveted accolades including our Employer of the Year, Marketing Excellence and Annualised Sales awards were handed out for unrivalled business acumen, brand awareness and outstanding recruitment and retention strategies.

But it is our ‘people’ awards that hold the greatest significance - those that recognise the individuals on the ground who go above and beyond to support their colleagues and improve the quality of life for their Clients.

As with our previous ceremonies, three people were invited as guests of honour to receive their awards this year – our Registered Manager of the Year, CareGiver of the Year and Young Ambassador of the Year.

Registered Manager of the Year, Caroline Evans

Young Ambassador of the Year, Rebecca Underwood

Our CareGiver of the Year 2024 is Marius Bancioiu from RaH Guildford and Farnham. He was recognised for consistently going the extra mile for his Clients, often sacrificing his personal time to create special moments for them.

One touching example of his dedication is when a terminally ill Client, a seasoned sailor who had travelled across Europe and Africa, expressed a final wish to visit the seaside. With great care, Marius meticulously planned the poignant trip, even giving up his day off to ensure his Client’s journey went seamlessly and did not affect the care of other Clients.

Commenting on his award win, Marius said: “Winning this award is an incredible honour, and I feel truly humbled to be recognized among such inspiring people. As a care assistant, my focus has always been on providing the best possible care for my clients, so to receive this kind of recognition is both unexpected and deeply appreciated.

“This award is not just a reflection of my efforts but of the amazing support from my team and the trust of my clients. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love, and this recognition motivates me to continue to give my best every day.”

Praising Marius’ commitment to his team and the Clients he serves, Alastair Shanks, Owner of RaH Guildford and Farnham, said: "Ever since Marius joined us in 2021, he has made a positive difference to our clients, in particular some of our male clients who were lacking in confidence when we began providing homecare for them. Marius will give up his own time to support our clients to achieve their goals and live full and happy lives. He is the epitome of excellent caregiving and we are very lucky and grateful that he is part of Right at Home GF."

Rebecca Underwood from RaH Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree is this year’s Young Ambassador of the Year, an accolade that celebrates young newcomers who exemplify Right at Home’s values of trust, quality, compassion and respect.

The 22-year-old has made an exceptional impact since joining Right at Home, starting as a CareGiver in November 2022 and earning a promotion to Care Coordinator just one month later.

Rebecca's leadership qualities shine through in her resilience, communication, and conflict management, making her a key player in the business, evidenced by top Client reviews and 100% employee engagement.

Picking up her award, Rebecca said: "Winning the Young Ambassador of the Year award was an overwhelming and surreal experience, but a moment I will always be proud of.

“Winning this award is not only for myself but for our amazing team who make a difference every day. I am proud to represent Right at Home and love being able to make a difference to people's lives."

The Celebration Awards, along with our Annual Conference, are the highlight of the Right at Home calendar, as they enable us to reflect on our achievements as a collective and inspire transformative ideas for supporting people to live safely and independently at home in the year ahead.

Lucy Campbell, CEO of Right at Home UK, said: “It is always incredibly humbling to be able to recognise the exceptional efforts of our wonderful network, and this year was no exception.

“Inspirational stories of dedication and commitment to staff, Clients and communities, and the positive difference our care teams across the country have made to countless lives, resonated with the whole room and served as a reminder of why we all choose to work in this amazing sector.”
