Right at Home expands its network and offers new efficiencies in training and development

Right at Home UK is preparing to launch two new franchise territories; and has a further five territories under consideration.

Giles Ellerton, from Chesham in Buckinghamshire, and husband and wife team Nathan and Natalie Jane East, from West Sussex, have just completed the RightStart training programme at Right at Home UK’s national office in Merseyside.

And with five more candidates in the process of securing finance, the network stands to grow to 70 franchises by the end of 2020.

The RaH network has seen month-on-month growth throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, proving that homecare is among the best sectors to build a resilient, future-proof business in.

Natalie Jane and Nathan East are preparing to meet the high demand for quality care and companionship in their home territory of Chichester & Bognor Regis.

Their interest arose from Nathan’s former role in online recruitment for care staff. Setting up their own franchise is giving them the opportunity to work together, and to balance career success with raising two young children.

Natalie Jane – a former director at Harper Collins – will use her experience to lead operations and compliance in the business, whilst Nathan focuses on attracting Clients and recruiting high calibre staff.

Natalie said: “Our goals coming into home care have always been to provide a quality local service to our community; to be a trusted partner and be transparent in everything we do.

“We carried out a huge amount of research looking for a franchise network that is aligned to our values and that we felt would be the right partner for us.  We decided on Right at Home because of the network’s focus on trust and quality in everything it does.  The many awards and accolades are testament to a network working together and getting it right!”

Giles Ellerton, who will introduce Right at Home services to the Aylesbury Vale and Chiltern territory, left a successful corporate career with BT to follow his ambition to build his own business.

He said: “I have had a positive personal experience of homecare as a family member, having seen what a difference it’s made to my 92-year-old mother.

“Right at Home has from the start demonstrated a rare combination of a deep passion, always going the extra mile to ensure the best care for Clients, as well as a genuine shared partnership with franchisees, supporting and collaborating with us to make a successful and sustainable growing business, delivering the best in class care.

“My initial training has been intense, but very exciting. The National Office staff are all subject matter experts in their field and have been excellent trainers. I am so looking forward to being equipped with the right skills, knowledge and processes to start and grow a successful business.

“Ken and Lucy and the rest of the team have extended a warm welcome and I look forward to developing a strong partnership in the weeks and months ahead.”

The two-week training course has marked a welcome return of visitors to the National Office site, operating safely with temperature checks, social distancing and sanitising processes in place. Although like many businesses, Right at Home has adapted in recent months, and has converted its main training room into an online ‘Zoom Room’ to increase its capacity for virtual training.

Chief Operational Officer Lucy Campbell said: “We are delighted to welcome Natalie Jane and Nathan and Giles into the Right at Home family – it’s been a pleasure to work with them on their initial training; and we’re looking forward to supporting them as they embark on an exciting new journey as providers of quality care.”

Lucy added: “It’s been great to see a return to face-to-face training; for our new Franchise Owners this is a vital element of giving them the best possible start, as they embark on a steep learning curve that covers all aspects of business ownership in this sector.

“However we have also embraced the opportunities and efficiencies of virtual learning, and recognise that by adding an online platform to our training centre we can extend this learning and development programme to key members of the wider Right at Home network, who may not have been able to attend in person.”
