Home care provider, Right at Home GF has hosted its annual fundraising concert Musical Memories to raise funds for the running of its popular community groups for people living with dementia.
The concert which took place on Sunday 20 October attracted an excellent turnout with people braving stormy weather for an afternoon of music, joy, and community at the Farnham Maltings.
The event saw the return of the ladies' acapella group In Accord, who once again delivered a fabulous performance. They were also joined by the Bordon Singing for the Mind group, and together they delighted the audience with a heartfelt rendition of ‘Bring Me Sunshine’.
Music is known for its ability to evoke memories and emotions and plays a vital role in enhancing well-being. The concert provided a safe and inclusive social opportunity for individuals with dementia, and their carers.
Liz Young, Right at Home’s Marketing & Recruitment Manager says: “Community is at the heart of everything that Right at Home does and being able to run groups such as Singing for the Mind, the Sunflower Cafes and Love 2 Move is our way of giving back.
“Our community groups are open to all but provide a special focus on those living with dementia. We are delighted that In Accord and Farnham Maltings can support us with this annual event which has become a firm fixture in the Right at Home calendar.”
There will be another opportunity to hear In Accord on 19 December when they join Right at Home for its Community Christmas Party at Farnham Methodist Church.
