Campaign helps people navigate social care

Right at Home GF has taken part in a campaign to ‘shout loud for social care’.
The home care provider organised an open morning at its head office in Farnham for anybody who wanted to know more about the options for receiving care whilst living at home.
Representatives from Surrey Heath Age Concern and the Safeguarding Officer from St Mary's Church in Ash Vale also attended. Both organisations have excellent links with the community and are often the first port of call for people needing a little extra support.
In a short presentation, Alastair Shanks, Managing Director of Right at Home GF said: “Every £1 invested in social care generates £2.36 in socioeconomic benefits which I’m sure most people would agree is a very good return on investment. The social care sector contributes £68.1 billion annually to UK economy through service delivery, employment and spending. Social care is often overlooked but these hard facts and figures really highlight the importance of the sector both in terms of the economy and society.”
As well as there being an opportunity to meet and talk to staff from Right at Home, visitors were also able to experience a dementia simulation led by Right at Home’s dementia care expert Adriana Mendonca. The exercise replicated the everyday challenges people have when living with a dementia diagnosis.
