Caregivers Named as Finalists in Prestigious Awards

Right at Home GF is celebrating after hearing the team is in the running for three prestigious awards.

Right at Home GF provides care for clients in their own homes, including specialist services such as dementia care and cancer care.

The company has been selected as a finalist in the Business of the Year category in the Surrey Business Awards and its home care team has been shortlisted in the Care Team of the Year category in the Surrey Care Awards. One of Right at Home’s newest caregivers is also a finalist in the category for Best Care Newcomer of the Year.

“Our home care team is simply brilliant, and I am absolutely thrilled they have made it to the final shortlist. Every single team member, whether office based or as a caregiver, thinks first about our clients and their families and what we can do to make their lives as fulfilling as possible, whatever stage they may be at,” says Alastair Shanks, Managing Director.

Karen Pritchard, a former executive PA for CBRE, has worked for Right at Home for just over a year and was nominated for her commitment to her clients, professional approach and cheerful, positive attitude. “Karen’s efforts go way beyond expectations and are much appreciated by her clients and their families. She has received lots of feedback and thanks since joining us. Her thorough approach and her empathy enhance the lives of her clients, which is what caregiving is all about. Alastair Shanks says that their success may be thanks to Right at Home’s approach of extending its caring ethos to its staff. “Caregiving is a highly rewarding but demanding job, so we put a lot of thought into making sure we look after our team. The Surrey Care Awards recognise and celebrate the exceptional contributions made by individuals and teams in Surrey’s care workforce. Categories include individual and team awards covering every aspect of care giving, from food and nutrition through to recruitment, leadership and dementia care. The gala awards ceremony is on 22 November at Epsom Downs Racecourse.

The Surrey Business Awards winners will be announced at a ceremony also at Epsom Downs Racecourse on 21 November.
