Community Events Bringing People Together
We have spent the last few months working with our community partners to be able to bring back all of our community events to in person.
The weekly programme of Dementia friendly community events includes Singing for The Mind and Love 2 Move and are facilitated by our wonderful CareGivers; Hayley and Mike.
Each event promotes social networking and peer support as well as a safe place for anyone who is living with or affected by Dementia.
On Monday's we partner with The Farnham Maltings and present; Singing for The Mind. Singing is a great social activity and brilliant for building confidence as well as memory recall.
Hayley leads Love 2 Move on Tuesday mornings at the Farnham Memorial Hall. This is a chair based aerobics session which is perfect if mobility is a challenge. Love 2 Move is endorsed by the British Gymnastics Association.
On Tuesday afternoon we have another Singing for The Mind in Fleet lead by Paul and is guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
Wednesday Mike can be found at the Guildford Reformed Church holding the Sunflower Cafe, supporting the community over coffee and cake.
Inclusive Cricket at Farnham Leisure Centre welcomes anyone over 50 and is inclusive of any mental or physical challenges. This is great if you want to try something new or reignite an old passion for cricket!
On Thursday Hayley hosts the Sunflower Cafe in Farnham at the Spire Church, activities, quizzes and Dementia support are all on offer with refreshments!
The 4th Thursday of each month we also have a Sunflower Cafe in Bordon at Cafe 1759.
