Event review: Defeat Dementia Walk May 2014
Published: 30/05/2015
Right at Home, Guildford & Farnham turned out in force to support the Alzheimer’s Society at the weekend with a sponsored walk around Farnham Park. The sun may have been reluctant to show its face but Right at Home’s T-shirts certainly brightened up the morning. Donations are still coming in for the Alzheimer’s Society, with the youngest walker just five years old. “Me and my sister Bethan got £66 for our walk,” explained Charlie Phillips (second from left). “But it’s not for us – it’s to help old people.”
In fact, the money will go to support the work of the Alzheimer’s Society as they support those living with dementia. The walk, which was attended by Jeremy Hunt MP, was the culmination of a week of events designed to raise awareness of dementia in Farnham and the surrounding area.
