Free dementia awareness session
Published: 17/04/2023
A free information session for members of the public that want to find out more about the impact of dementia plus tips about how to interact with someone living with the disease is happening on Wednesday 3 May in Farnham.
Alastair Shanks, Dementia Friends Champion and Managing Director at Right at Home GF is leading the session and says: “People with dementia sometimes need a helping hand to go about their daily lives and to feel included in their local community. Dementia Friends aims to give people an understanding of dementia and the small things they can do to help make a difference such as helping someone find the right bus home or spreading the word about dementia.”
As well as providing practical advice and giving people an understanding about dementia and its impact, dementia expert Alastair Shanks will also do his best to answer specific dementia-related questions from the audience.
Dementia Friends starts at 6.30pm and will be held at the Farnham Maltings. To book, call 01252 745444 or visit the Farnham Maltings website.
