Greatest hits prove to be a big hit at dementia friendly concert

A dementia friendly concert organised by Right at Home GF has proved to be the most popular yet.
Musical Memories was open to all but was particularly aimed at people with dementia and their families and friends.
Local harmony ensemble In Accord got people singing along to well-known songs by the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and others.
Alastair Shanks, Managing Director of Right at Home GF said: “We had around 60 people joining us for an uplifting afternoon of music. In Accord chose some very catchy songs from the 60s and 70s. It was wonderful to see people connecting with the music and having a really good time.”
Right at Home GF has made Musical Memories a regular feature in its calendar of community events. The next concert will be in October 2023.
In the meantime, people with dementia and their carers can attend a variety of weekly or monthly activities such as Singing for the Mind, Love to Move and the Sunflower Café. Full details about local groups can be found at www.rightathomegf.co.uk.
