The vital care work of local homecare provider, Right at Home GF has been recognised with the company scooping a prestigious industry award.
Right at Home GF was named overall Business of the Year at the annual Right at Home Celebration Awards.
After receiving the Business of the Year award, Alastair Shanks, Managing Director of Right at Home GF said: “This is such a great award after a challenging year. We are all so excited for the future and how we can make a difference to all our wonderful clients and partners.”
Right at Home GF’s response to the pandemic was a key reason for it being named Business of the Year. At the outset of the first lockdown, the company took the lead in recruiting and co-ordinating Farnham’s volunteers in order to help vulnerable and shielding households, meet their basic needs and provide additional support. Right at Home GF mobilised volunteers again in Christmas 2020 so that all vulnerable people living alone had a freshly cooked Christmas lunch on Christmas Day.
The branch, which covers Godalming, Fleet, Farnborough and Aldershot as well as Guildford and Farnham, was also chosen for its approach to developing a professional and committed staff team, supporting career development, and its innovative contributions to supporting the wider homecare network.
“The whole team at Right at Home GF works incredibly hard to provide excellent care to all of our clients every day. To maintain that level of individualised care, having a workforce of dedicated, motivated and professional caregivers and office staff is absolutely vital. That’s why we invest so heavily in our staff team and it is wonderful to have that recognised through awards like this,” said Mr Shanks.
The awards took place at the end of the Right at Home annual conference, held at St George’s Park, the Football Association’s national football centre in Burton on Trent. The conference met for the first time since 2019, marking a milestone on the incredibly challenging journey for the care sector through the COVID pandemic.
