Local home care team is named best in the south east

A winning team of home care workers from Right at Home GF has attended the finals of the Great British Care Awards in celebration of the amazing achievements from across the UK’s social care sector.

The team was invited to enter the finals after being named the South East’s Home Care Team of the Year at the regional awards in November. 

Judges at the Care Awards, which were held in Birmingham, piled praise on the team, describing it as an ‘innovative and truly values-led organisation that continually strives to improve all aspects of its service.’ In particular, the judges recognised Right at Home GF’s investment in building a motivated and professional group of CareGivers: ‘By recruiting the right people and providing a supportive environment, the team can provide the best possible service to individual clients.’

Alastair Shanks, the Managing Director of Right at Home GF said: “I am immensely proud of my CareGivers. Among the innovations Right at Home GF has pioneered are its magic moments initiative where CareGivers are supported in finding ways to help clients enjoy their lives and maintain independence through trips and visits. The initiative has enabled clients to revisit hobbies they had previously enjoyed or celebrate achievements from their former professional lives. Staff also have access to a closed Facebook group to share experiences and post tips, helping them build team spirit and support each other.
