Guaranteed to put a smile on your face! Come and join the charismatic Paul for an afternoon sing-a-long to some old and some not so old great numbers. We will even treat you to a nice cuppa to wet your whistle before singing your heart out.
Music, and singing in particular, has been shown to boost brain activity and therefore plays an important part in slowing the progress of dementia. The Alzheimer’s Society lists five examples of the power of music:
- Music evokes emotions that bring memories.
- Musical aptitude and appreciation are two of the last remaining abilities in dementia patients.
- Music can bring emotional and physical closeness.
- Singing is engaging.
- Music can shift mood, manage stress and stimulate positive interactions.
Singing for the Mind is a part of Right at Home GF’s ambition to enable people living with dementia to continue enjoying life in the community.
