Right at Home Harrogate's Recent Events in the Community

At Right at Home Harrogate, we're dedicated to improving connections within our community by getting out to local events. Throughout August and September, we were delighted to join in and host several enriching experiences, from the Knaresborough Show to a Macmillan Coffee Morning. Here’s a look at some of these recent community highlights.

A Day of Connection at the Knaresborough Show

On 24th August, we had the pleasure of attending the Knaresborough Show, an event that brings together residents, businesses, and organisations to celebrate the best of our local area. Chatting with visitors, we shared information about our home care services and connected with the wonderful community that we serve.

Partnership with Parkinson’s UK

Our collaboration with Parkinson’s UK was a central focus at the show. Partnering with such a valuable organisation enables us to better support individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their families through resources and awareness. Our team is committed to strengthening this partnership, allowing us to enhance our services for those affected by Parkinson’s.

One of the day’s highlights was a hands-on CPR training session with the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and local First Responders.

Rudding Park’s Beginners' Women’s Golf Evening

Our Managing Director, Veronica, recently attended a beginners' women’s golf evening at Rudding Park Golf Club on 28th August. This inspiring event gathered women from various backgrounds for an evening of golf instruction, camaraderie, and community networking in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Guided by instructors, participants practiced their stance, swing, and putting techniques, building confidence and skill. Beyond the golf lessons, the evening saw women share stories, insights, and professional goals. For Right at Home Harrogate, getting involved in these activities reflects our commitment to nurturing relationships that go beyond our direct care services.

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning

On 27th September, we hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. We welcomed a fantastic group of guests, including representatives from Parkinson’s, Ian Hammond from Andy’s Man Club, and members of JCP Consulting Engineers, who joined our Right at Home team and Clients for a morning filled with uplifting conversations and delicious homemade cakes, courtesy of Nick’s Bakes.

Building Community Connections

The coffee morning offered an ideal platform to discuss shared goals with local organisations. Our discussions with Parkinson’s representatives highlighted our common mission to support individuals living with health challenges, while conversations with Ian Hammond brought insights into mental health advocacy through Andy’s Man Club.

The success of our Macmillan Coffee Morning showed our community’s commitment to helping others. The funds raised for Macmillan will contribute to vital services for individuals affected by cancer, and the connections made will continue to reinforce our shared dedication to compassionate, community-driven care.

Looking Forward

Thank you to everyone who joined us at these events and contributed to our mission of making a positive impact. We look forward to future opportunities to connect, share, and support our community. If you weren’t able to attend, please reach out to learn more about our home care services, our partnership with Parkinson’s UK, and our ongoing efforts to build a safer, more connected community in Harrogate and beyond.
