Ruislip Local History and Places to visit:
Ruislip is a town in West London, England, which is part of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
The ancient parish of Ruislip lay in the extreme north-west of Middlesex. The manor of Ruislip appears in the Domesday Book, and some of the earliest settlements still exist today, designated as local heritage sites. The parish church, St Martin's, dates back to the 13th century and remains in use. The buildings at the northern end of Ruislip High Street form the core of the original village square and are now Grade II listed. It originally featured a central water pump which was moved out of the road in the 1970s as a result of increased traffic.
The expansion of the Metropolitan Railway in the early 20th century acted as a catalyst for development in the area. Ruislip station opened in 1904.
Ruislip Lido:

At the heart of everything is the daily worshipping life of this church where Mass is celebrated twice on Sundays and on every weekday, accompanied by the quiet rhythm of Morning and Evening Prayer. The church is open every day from early morning until early evening so that people can come in and spend some time being still, surrounded by the beauty of a building set aside for prayer. Sometimes, our Clients are able to attend mass with their CareGivers. It is a great way to help them stay connected to their community.
Polish Air Force Memorial:
The Polish Air Force Memorial (informally Polish War Memorial) is a war memorial in West London, in memory of airmen from Poand who served in the Royal Air Force as part of the Polish contribution to World War II. Our CareGivers sometimes take our Clients to pay their respects at the memorial. Those who have memories of the war, especially enjoy the site’s historical significance.
