Celebrating unsung heroes

The theme for this year’s Carer’s week is ‘Putting Carers on the Map’. From 10th -16th June, the annual awareness campaign will focus on giving unpaid Carers a voice to ensure they are heard by politicians, employers, service providers, educational establishments, journalists and throughout our communities.

Carers Week celebrates and recognises the contribution the 5.7 million UK carers make to families and communities across the country. It also helps friends, family members and people who don't identify themselves as carers to help access much-needed support.

“We want caring to be made more visible, ensuring that carers feel seen and respected and that they can access the services and support that they need.”

Supported by charities including Age UK, Carers UK, Oxfam and Rethink Mental Health, there will be plenty of ways to get involved and support this important cause. You can learn more via their website (https://www.carersweek.org/about-carers-week/), or by following Carers Week UK on social media.
