Right at Home Office Opening

Published: 29/11/2021

On Tuesday 23rd November Cllr Rosy Raines, Mayor of Havant, officially opened the new offices of Right at Home Havant & Petersfield. Right at Home is a CQC rated Outstanding home care company which, as coincidence has it, celebrated its sixth birthday in the same week.

As well as running community support groups such as a dementia friendly coffee mornings and Inclusive Cricket in partnership with Havant Borough Council, their 60-strong team supports (main elderly) local residents to stay living at home and retain their independence for as long as possible.

The Right at Home team has grown gradually over the last few years and had outgrown their previous office space in the centre of Havant so the move to larger premises, which allow for break out rooms as well as a dedicated training room for new staff, was welcomed by the team – even after they learnt that the new offices had previously homed tarantulas.

Duncan Cameron, Owner and Director of Right at Home Havant & Petersfield, commented that demand for support services in Havant and its surrounding towns is continuing to grow:

“As we slowly fight our way out of the worst of the pandemic, we are supporting more and more people. And although difficulties in carer recruitment have been well publicised nationally, we continue to attract applications from some great local carers and currently have capacity to support more clients so this move could not have come at a better time.”

Cllr Rosy Raines originally met Duncan through their membership of Dementia Friendly Havant and she recalls how they both realised very quickly that they shared similar goals of supporting those in need in the local community.

"Having worked in the care sector for many years myself and come across a number of care companies, I can tell you that Duncan and his team are good people. As an owner and employer, Duncan clearly thinks about his staff and cares about his staff and I am so impressed by the kindness of his team. I was delighted to be asked to open their new offices and wish them well on their journey into 2022 and beyond.”

Right at Home Havant & Petersfield is proud to be an Outstanding rated homecare company with a team of loyal CareGivers, offering visits ranging from one hour through to live-in care. They are open 9am to 5pm seven days a week and are happy to answer any queries, however big or small, from family members considering care for a loved one as well as those interested in a career in care themselves.
