Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance
Published: 01/06/2020
The Dementia Action Alliance brings together organisations across England, committed to transforming health and social care outcomes for people affected by dementia.
We’re excited to be welcomed to the Ipswich Dementia Action Alliance and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone (via Zoom) later this month. I understand the group is made up of volunteers from a variety of areas who are keen to help people living with dementia. Some volunteers work in or run local care homes or memory cafes, and others are Dementia Champions for local companies or groups.
My husband and fellow-Director Bill and I have a special interest in dementia, having cared for many clients with dementia over the years. Bill and I have enjoyed holding dementia awareness workshops in our community which have been attended by health professionals, family carers, volunteers, and charity representatives – all of whom could share their experiences of dementia if they wished to.
As Dementia Champions, we look forward to helping where we can, and to learning from other dementia friends and champions, family carers, and those living with dementia in our Ipswich community.
Best wishes, Claire Percy
