Ipswich Shopmobility reopens on 1st August
Published: 24/07/2020
Thanks to Ipswich Borough Council for notifying us that Shopmobility is reopening from 1st August.
We’re pleased our clients can again hire equipment to shop and use other facilities in the town centre. Some Right at Home clients rely on Shopmobility to enable them to access the town centre accompanied by their CareGiver, so we’re delighted that this service is resuming to help with clients’ well-being and enable people to maintain their day to day independence.
Shopmobility provides free hand-propelled and electric wheelchairs and electric scooters to help people who have limited mobility, whether through permanent or temporary disablement, illness, accident or age. They are located inside the Buttermarket Shopping Centre, on the Lower Ground level. When arriving by car, use the Falcon Street entrance to the Buttermarket Car Park. They have advised there is a revised booking, collection and return procedure to ensure the service is COVID-19 secure. Bookings for equipment should be made in advance – details here.
Thanks from Right at Home Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe – to all the Shopmobility team and volunteers for their hard work!
