2022 - What a year for the team!

As we welcome in 2023 and make our way through January, we fondly look at the achievements we made at Right Home on the Isle of Wight.

After trading began in August 2021, just five months later in March 2022 we scored 10/10 on homecare.co.uk by client reviews.

At the beginning of the year Right at Home offered their office space as a drop off point for the Ukraine Appeal. An overwhelming amount of donations were received from the local community. It took 2 weeks and 6 van loads given to the MadAid charity who then sent the donations off to Ukraine.

June saw the Queens Platinum Jubilee, Right at Home was asked to join the Jubilee Committee to plan the celebrations. There were various events that weekend during the village street party and we were able set up a stall to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society.  It was also a good chance to spread the word on our new Dementia Afternoon Tea Club. Over 250 ‘Play your cards right’ games in 4 hours raised the charity £230!

July held the very first Dementia Afternoon Tea Club which now runs every second Thursday of the month. It is growing strength to strength each month as it reaches the wider community, in July the attendance was 19 and in December we had 31 members. We’ve had a variety of groups come to give talks and activities including British Legion, sing alongs and school choirs.

In August Paul and Vicky won the Community Impact Award for their high level of community integration through the Ukraine Appeal and Dementia Afternoon Tea Club.

In October, having seen the impact of fundraising on charities it gave Vicky the push she needed to sign up to run the London Marathon. Running in memory of Paul’s dad and to fundraise for The Alzheimer’s Society, by using social media and island newsletters she was able to hit her £2000 target.

To round off the most wonderful year, after the very first CQC inspection for the island franchise, we were rated outstanding in 3 domains, placing Right at Home Isle of Wight in the top 1% of homecare providers in the UK. Still in the infant stage of business, these are big achievements for Right at Home Isle of Wight and so no doubt making everyone look forward to what 2023 will bring.

So, with that in mind. We are incredibly proud of our hard working team. We already have exciting things up our sleeves for 2023, so watch this space
