"Following a detailed assessment and home visit, the team were able to rapidly get a package of care in place that felt both professional yet personalised. The lead time to start the package was a matter of days and that helped take a weight off our minds. Right At Home initially started visits twice daily but have increased to three times daily after gauging Mum's needs. The care provided has been comprehensive and compassionate. The carers have worked wonders with Mum - managing personal care, nutritional needs and engaging in social activities, both at home and with trips out. In addition to the care provided for Mum being great, the team have also provided practical assistance to us by helping get repairs done around the house which has been a godsend as we live a distance away."

Things to Do in Bramhope for Our Clients

Bramhope is a village with a rich array of activities and attractions that our Clients love to explore.

Golden Acre Park in Bramhope

We often enjoy taking Clients for a walk around Golden Acre Park. While the park spans 130 acres, the level paths, plentiful benches, and popular café make it accessible and enjoyable, even for those with mobility issues. On a summer’s day, there’s nothing better than a stroll around the lake to watch the birds, followed by tea and a scone at the café.

Paul’s Pond and Breary Marsh in Bramhope

For those steady on their feet, Paul’s Pond is a lovely spot in the Cookridge Hall estate. This pond, dug in the 1820s, was later named after William Paul, who bought the estate in 1890. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a kingfisher! The walk also includes a fairy door trail and the tranquil Breary Marsh. However, this route is not suitable for those unsteady on their feet or in a wheelchair.

Bramhope Village Hall

The Bramhope Village Hall, also known as The Robert Craven Memorial Hall, is a vibrant community hub with plenty going on. Every second Sunday of the month, it hosts a farmers' market, offering fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, bread, and meat. The hall is also home to a bridge club, an annual flower show, and the “Care for a Cuppa” sessions, run by Dementia Friendly Bramhope. This group meets on the first Tuesday of every month, offering light chair-based exercises and, of course, a cup of Yorkshire tea.

Nearby, you’ll also find a bowling green, tennis courts, and a cricket ground, making it a focal point for local activities.

Fish and Chips in Bramhope

Is it really Friday without a fish supper? Popsie’s in Bramhope is a favourite among our Clients, serving up traditional fish and chips for a feel-good Friday feast!

Taking a Dip with Our Clients at Britannia Hotel, Bramhope

For exercise that’s gentle on the joints, we enjoy swimming sessions at the Britannia Hotel. You don’t need to stay overnight to use the pool—just pay a small charge. The pool is often quieter than those at larger leisure centres, providing a relaxed environment. We’re happy to assist Clients who wish to swim, ensuring a full risk assessment is conducted beforehand.
