"Following a detailed assessment and home visit, the team were able to rapidly get a package of care in place that felt both professional yet personalised. The lead time to start the package was a matter of days and that helped take a weight off our minds. Right At Home initially started visits twice daily but have increased to three times daily after gauging Mum's needs. The care provided has been comprehensive and compassionate. The carers have worked wonders with Mum - managing personal care, nutritional needs and engaging in social activities, both at home and with trips out. In addition to the care provided for Mum being great, the team have also provided practical assistance to us by helping get repairs done around the house which has been a godsend as we live a distance away."

Things to Do in Yeadon for Our Clients

Yeadon is a beautiful town with plenty of activities and places to explore, making it an ideal location for our Clients to enjoy their days.

Yeadon Tarn

Yeadon Tarn, affectionately known as “the dam” by locals, is a popular spot for a leisurely walk. The wide, level paths are perfect for those with mobility issues, and the benches offer a comfortable place to rest. Whether you enjoy watching the sailing activities or feeding the ducks, Yeadon Tarn provides a peaceful escape. On a summer day, our Clients love indulging in an ice cream while watching the planes take off and land from Leeds Bradford Airport.

Leeds Bradford Airport

For our Clients with an interest in aviation or engineering, a trip to Leeds Bradford Airport offers a unique experience. The Multi-Flight café is a favourite spot, where you can enjoy a cup of tea while watching the planes. This activity often evokes fond memories, especially for those living with dementia.

Yeadon Town Hall Theatre

Yeadon Town Hall is a gem, hosting a variety of productions throughout the year. We love accompanying our Clients to these shows, particularly the festive performances like Yorkshire’s Very Own Christmas Spectacular. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live theatre and socialise with others in the community.

Nunroyd Park

Whether you’re looking for a place to walk or simply enjoy the outdoors, Nunroyd Park is a lovely spot. With its open spaces and gentle walking paths, it’s perfect for a relaxing day out.

Chana Stores

Many of our Clients are passionate gardeners, and so a trip to Chana Stores, is always welcome! We love this local store – so much so that we commissioned Sunny to plant up our pots outside our homecare office in Horsforth!

From September through to February - we still have plenty of flowers! If you are local, you will often see Mr Singh perched outside their nursery on Henshaw Lane. Starting off small, it seems to have grown and grown over the years!

We highly recommend heading over there to pick their brains on all things green or flowery -- their customer service is second to none.

For those less able, Chana Stores are able to pot plants for you or we can easily help with this during one of our care visits, indoors at the kitchen table together.  A lovely activity to do indoors!

Yeadon High Street

Yeadon High Street has several independent businesses, from cafés such as Never Enough Thyme and Heebie Jeebies to the tempting treats of the Sweet Scoop traditional sweet shop.  A meander down the High Street is always a good time, and inevitably we bump into friends along the way, so sometimes just going for a window shop or helping our Clients with their shopping at Morrisons, can turn into a social gathering!  Fridays is market day 8.30-3.30pm and takes place in the square overlooked by the gothic town hall.
