Quality Homecare in Leeds North, Otley and Horsforth and the Surrounding Areas

At Right at Home North Leeds, Otley and Horsforth, we understand the huge impact that quality in-home care makes to individuals and their families. Our mission is not just to provide companionship, care and support, but to deliver it with real compassion and with a focus on improving the quality of life for the people we support - rather than just simply maintaining it.  We achieve this using the following person-centred approach:

A Considerate Homecare Assessment

Every journey begins with a thorough but caring free homecare assessment. We start by visiting at a time that is most suited to you and your family.  Our aim is to put everyone at ease, which is why we take our time and never rush these assessments.  We promise to never judge or make any assumptions about individuals or their care.

During our free homecare assessment, we will evaluate your loved ones needs, aspirations, background, and preferences.  We will encourage you all to ask questions, so that your family member understands and can remain in control of any decisions relating to their own care.  It is important for us, that your loved one feels they have a voice, and we will always treat them with the upmost dignity and the respect that they deserve.

Matching your Loved One with the Perfect Carer

Our carers share our vision and have the very best qualities needed to provide exceptional care in a considerate and compassionate way. We ensure that our care assistants pass our “Mum Test” – that is, they are someone who we would be happy to have caring for ourselves or our close family.

Carers are matched to our Clients based on background, skills, shared interests, and hobbies.  Our “no stranger policy” means that we will always introduce your loved one to their CareGiver ahead of time and our carers will never wear uniform, which we find puts our clients at ease, as it breaks down any potential barriers.

Tailoring a Personalised Care Plan with Right at Home Leeds North, Otley & Horsforth

We collaborate closely with your loved one to create a tailored care plan that addresses their specific and individual needs.  A care plan is a very detailed guide that our caregivers work to, based on people’s personal desired outcomes and their needs.  Only when your loved one is happy with this plan, do they sign this off, enabling them to remain in control of their own care.  The care plan is a living roadmap that evolves as needs change, preferences alter, and achievements are made.

Safety in the Home

The safety and well-being of your loved one is of vital importance to us. We will risk assess their living environment which includes a trip and fall hazard risk assessment. We can even help to put them in touch with external agencies who can support with adaptations in the home and fire safety.

Sustained Support and Advocacy

Effective communication is key. We welcome all feedback and maintain an open dialogue with our clients and their families.  From regularly reviewing of care plans (in person) as needs evolve, both ad hoc and at scheduled times, to always having an open-door policy.

Promoting Independence in the Elderly

Our ultimate goal is to empower your loved one to develop their confidence and independence wherever possible.  In this way we improve their quality of life, reduce feelings of loneliness, and increase their sense of belonging and purpose.

Our approach is not task based, to take over or remove choice.  Rather, we believe in supporting others to achieve their aspirations by listening, encouraging, and working alongside them in a friendly and positive way.  For this reason, we do not rush our visits and do not believe that person centred support can be achieved in less than one hour.

Companionship Care in Leeds North, Otley and Horsforth

Often as we get older, we may find that we lose our confidence or our independence.  This is not always the case but if it is, it may be due to a fall or we may have decided to stop driving.  However, it is still just as important to remain active in our local community as it is at any age - which is where companionship can help.

Our carers can support with shopping trips, visits to groups, appointments, garden centres or restaurants.  They can engage with your loved one at home by supporting them with cooking, in the garden or with their hobbies – you may find they even discover a new interest!  Alternatively, you may just require someone to sit with your loved one, so that you can have some much needed time away.
