Who we are and what we do:
Right at Home Loughton, Redbridge & Waltham Forest support our clients by providing high quality homecare. We promote independence and dignity for our clients whilst they achieve their goals. We offer a range of services including domiciliary care, long sit care, 24hr care and live in care.

What are care givers' responsibilities?
Roles and responsibilities vary within the care sector depending on the needs of the client. The aim of all roles focuses on improving the life of the client and their families.
Key roles include:
- Companionship
Offering fellowship, friendship and company for the lonely through their daily activities.
- Personal care
Supporting in all aspects of personal care, hygiene and meal preparation.
- Administering medication
Ensure that clients are receiving the correct medications safely.
- Dementia care
Supporting clients living with dementia in all aspects of life forming routines.
- Light housework
Washing up, laundry, hoovering, dusting.
- Emotional support
Offering support, building trust with the client and having a listening ear.
- Liaising with healthcare professionals
Organise and support in taking clients to appointments.
- Mentoring other care givers based on your experiences
Encouraging and motivating other workers by sharing your knowledge.
A day in the life of a Care Giver:
As mentioned above no two days are the same. A typical day as a care giver could look something like this…
8.30am: Time for your first call of the day. Personal care, medication and prepare breakfast for the client.
10.30am: Support client to get ready and take them out to the shops.
12.00pm: Prepare lunch and medication for the client
13.00pm: Pop to the office for any updates and collect Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
14.30pm: Personal care, light housework and companionship visit with client
17.00pm: Last call of the day. Meal preparation and medication for the client.

Care Giver Pay:
There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding pay for care workers. At Right at Home Loughton, Redbridge & Waltham Forest we are committed to paying above average hourly rates. Care Givers currently receive £10+ per hour with enhanced evening and weekend rates. We also pay a competitive fuel allowance of 35p a mile. Which was recently raised to reflect increases in petrol prices.
