Right at Home Maidenhead Nominated as Employer of the Year 2021

The team at Right at Home Maidenhead are proud to have been nominated as a finalist for the annual Celebration Awards.
The Celebration Awards are an opportunity for the Right at Home UK National office to recognise all the inspiring work that has been performed in the last 12 months across the Right at Home Network.
Right at Home Maidenhead is just one of 60 different locations within the group, so to be nominated as Employer of the Year (30-49 Staff) is a real vote of confidence and should reassure all of our stakeholders that we care as deeply about the welfare of our staff as we do about our clients.
The nomination reflects a number of aspects of the care we show to our staff and the motivation they feel in return. One of the aspects judges are looking for is the retention rate for staff, which in this industry is notoriously bad. During a very testing period, due to the pandemic, Right at Home Maidenhead has increased its retention to almost 70%.
Similarly, staff feel engaged and motivated, with over 93% telling us they feel they have opportunities to grow and develop their career. Our Care Coordinator Amrit for example was involved in creating a staff testimonial video used in a national campaign explaining what made her proud in her work and how she thrives on the opportunities for both self and professional development.
What we find refreshing is that team members feel enabled to challenge us if they have concerns, one care giver telling us,
“I feel safe and able to speak up and challenge the way things are done”
We always take on board staff feedback, which the judges have recognised; this is the way we improve as a business and therefore increase the quality of welfare for staff and clients.
Our rewards scheme is also much appreciated with one staff member telling us,
"I won carer of the year - staff and clients voted, and it makes it feel really worth it!”
The judges also recognised the praise offered by the Care Quality Commission, who following the most recent inspection had this to say,
We found the provider demonstrated strong values and successfully created a service that put people first and empowered staff. The staff continuously considered ideas on how to enhance people's lives and how to adapt the service delivery to people's changing needs.
The feedback from staff confirmed they were fully involved, felt valued and there was a strong feel of belonging and pride of working for the service reflected through the structure of the organisation.”
Speaking about the Nomination, Scott Macrae Director of Right at Home Maidenhead said,
"What we appreciate most about the nomination is that it recognises how much we strive to make the work environment a rewarding one for all of our staff. The business is continuing to grow so in the challenging conditions we’ve faced over the last year we know we will only retain and recruit great staff members if they are in a motivating and rewarding environment. This nomination lets us know we are on the right track.”
