Playing my part in making Medway Dementia Friendly

Ahead of the launch of our Dementia Café tomorrow – I recently trained to be a Dementia Friends Champion.

Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative, where Champions volunteer to encourage others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia in their community. They do this by giving them information about the personal impact of dementia, and what they can do to help.

Now that I am officially a Dementia Friends Champion, I will be looking to hold regular, one-hour training sessions to support Medway becoming a Dementia Friendly area and recruiting as many Dementia Friends as possible in our local community.
