Teaching Life Skills through Chess!
Published: 21/03/2019
Did you know that after the first 4 moves of each colour in chess, there are over 318,000,000,000 potential combinations?
A local organisation called ‘Learn Chess’ has kindly donated 15 iPads to us here at Right at Home Medway.
Learn Chess usually uses the iPad to help children’s concentration, thought processes and cognitive development through the art of learning and playing chess.
Due to the recent Covid-19 lock down, the iPads have been loaned to us so that our clients could use them to stay in touch with family via FaceTime.
The iPads come with an excellent piece of chess software which could aid cognitive stimulation for our aging population.
We would like to thank the team at Learn Chess for their kindness as many of our clients and their families could benefit from the iPads free of charge.
This collaboration came about as a result of a meeting at the Medway Business Over Breakfast networking group, and is a great example of what is possible when local businesses work together for the benefit of our community.
